Our Mission:

Our mission is to identify and assess the substance prevention and safety needs of children, youth, adults, and families in an ongoing process.  The Network will develop, maintain, and carry out a plan to address these needs.  We will coordinate with all sectors of the community to plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based strategies to prevent:

  • substance use and abuse
  • child abuse and neglect
  • unintentional injuries and death
  • youth violence

The Network can accomplish this mission by enhancing those factors that protect while reducing those factors that increase risk.

Our Vision:

The citizens of Kittitas County live in a community where agencies, businesses, and community members partner together to maximize the use of resources and create solutions for a safe and healthy environment for all ages.

Start Talking Before They Start Drinking Campaign

corridor

Underage drinking can have serious consequences. You can protect your children from the risks associated with drinking by maintaining open communication and expressing a clear, consistent message about alcohol. Building a close relationship with your kids will encourage them to come to you for help in making decisions that impact their health and well-being. This campaign provides facts and practical advice on how to talk with your children about underage drinking. It helps you create household rules to support your values.

eye “What parents may not realize is that children say parental
disapproval of underage drinking is the key reason they have chosen not to drink.”
